Unidentified Stages is pleased to partner with The Red Mic Repertory Company to present to you a night of brand-new works by women, for women, about women.
With the devastating news regarding the leaked SCOTUS draft decision indicating the imminent overturning of Roe v. Wade, theatre companies Red Mic Repertory Company and Unidentified Stages to discuss what could/should be done. We realized this was an opportunity to “take our broken hearts and make it into art.” We decided to officially partner to develop an original play, which we’ve entitled Destigmatized, comprised of true stories written by our respective company members.

Why a night of works by women, about women, for women?
Emily Miller and Coleen Renee Lis, cofounders of The Red Mic Repertory Company reached out to US after the devastating leak of the potential overturning of Roe V. Wade. We both decided that we needed to voice our opinions in the best way we knew how: through our art. While some believe that art is a fanciful passing, we understand the impact a performance, a song, a portrait, a dance…can have on someone. Thus Destigmatized was born.
Reaching out to company members, Red Mic and US gathered a group of talented women, to write and perform in a night centered around their experiences and their voices.
